    • Seoul Fashion Week F/W kicks off
    • The 20th Seoul Fashion Week has grandeur opening on 26th of March and will be showing till the 1st of April. During this 7 days event, Korea’s top designers will unveil their designs at SETEC and KRING. This year’s Seoul Fashion Week has three parts; ‘Seoul Collection’ at SETEC 1 and 2 Hall which offers the latest fashion trends and designs showcased on runways, ‘Seoul Fashion Fair’ at SETEC 3 Hall which displays of clothing, shoes and accessories in showrooms and booths and finally ‘Generation Next’ at Kring which has the fashion and events by rising star designers from Korea.

    • Seoul City released the winner for Hangang Park’s design bench competition on 25th of March. There were 159 ideas summit for this competition during 22nd to 24th of February and 21 designs were selected. For the mass supplies, all the handed design idea has to be made in million won budget limit.

    • Independent book & magazine market by Unlimited Edition
    • Unlimited Edition has introduced the independent ‘Book’ and ‘Magazine’ to the audiences; they offer the space as design market booth between the maker, designer and consumer. From this 3 days open market, one could actually meet and communicate with the book or self publishers. Almost each book and magazine is limited but its future possibilities are unlimited.

    • SADI sweeps away International Design Award
    • SADI(Samsung Art & Design Institute, director Kim Sookeun) awarded the international design award, ‘iF Concept Design Award 2009’, they has been ranked as top school with 9 winners. There were 2,100 participated design ideas for the last year, and for 2010 3,200 works from 39 countries competed. 9 works from SADI has been picked out of 100 winners, and 4 excellent ideas will be awarded cash prizes.

    • Graphic Design Exhibition at KT&G Sangsangmadang
    • Sangsangmadang has the projects supports the designer and artist, ‘Sangsang Do:Dream’, and from March 4 till 23, the graphic designer Gye Joengkwon has solo exhibition at Sangsangmadang’s art square. He works in Toronto, Canada and has been selected as one of 18 superb designers in US by design publishers, Rockport and he is the only Korean.

    • Kia ‘Venga’ won red dot award
    • Kia Motors’ ‘Venga’ has been won the world’s best known design competition, red dot award. The juries picked Kia’s super-mini class car, ‘Venga’ as the winner in the ‘product design’ category for the compact design from the conventional mini-van profile. As a red dot award-winner, ‘Venga’ follows in the tire marks of Kia Soul received honorable mention in 2009. A total of 4,252 products from 57 nations were submitted for this year's competition in the sectors of product design, communication design and design concepts. The judging was entrusted to an international jury of highly respected design experts.

    • On-Line Electric Vehicle(OLEV) for Seoul Zoo
    • The world's first On-Line Electric Vehicle (OLEV) debuted Tuesday at the Seoul Zoo in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province. It will replace the old ‘elephant train’ which used to be one of Zoo’s symbol aged more than 20 years. However, the old train used diesel and was criticized for polluting the air, setting the stage for the new electric vehicle.
